Baby Bella- 17 days old

Bella is 17 days old today! She weighed in at 7 lbs. 15 oz. today at her check-up. Nana and GP are visiting from Texas and she is getting plenty of hugs and kisses! She still doesn't want to sleep in bassinet/crib by herself and prefers to be held while she sleeps. Please pray that this problem will correct itself over the next couple weeks.

Introducing Isabella "Bella" Dianne Proffitt

She arrived a week before her due date! Born December 11th at 7:10pm at the Yongsan Army Garrison hospital in Seoul, S. Korea she is doing great and we are happy to be home from the hospital tonight (Sunday, Dec. 13). I am doing well too and labor and delivery went wonderfully. Love to all! Scott, Kristen, & Bella

38 weeks and some change

Check-up went well today, but no progress or dialation. The doctor said if she hasn't made her debut by 41 weeks they will induce...I will be 41 weeks on Christmas day! Talk about a great present! I am now staying up at the Stork's Nest at the Yongsan Army Garrison in Seoul so I can be near the Army hospital. Scott will drive up when I go into labor. Please keep us in your prayers! Kristen

37 weeks

Hello family and friends! A new belly shot for you to gawk at :) Today was an adventure as I thought my water had broke or that I was at least leaking, but after a drive up to Seoul and a drawn out Dr.'s visit we were disappointed to be sent home. Please keep Scott in your prayers as he has been sick since Thanksgiving. Love to all!

Ladybug nursery unveiling

We got some really great gifts at our Luau baby shower and also from many friends and family back in the states. Thank you so much to everybody! Here are a few pics of the finished nursery. Also, you can see three blankets mommy sewed just for baby girl. This was a fun project and a special thanks to Shauna who coached me through it!

8 months & 1 weeks pregnant

Another belly shot. Getting much more uncomfortable these days and feeling pain on my left side (sciatic nerve), but otherwise still feeling good and getting exercise as often as my schedule will allow. I am enjoying walking and water aerobics to keep in shape.

Co-ed Luau Baby Shower

We had a great time at our luau themed baby shower. Thanks to all our friends who helped to make it happen, and a special thanks to Karla Nieves and Suzanne Pitchford for planning and organizing the entire event!

Pictures of the nursery. Still have to hang the curtains and some items on the wall. You can also see pics of me working on a painting that will go above the crib. Let me know what you think?!

24 week ultrasound

Would love to share the video but it is way too big to upload. Here are a couple of my favorite pics from the ultrasound I had on Friday, Aug. 28th. We counted ten fingers and ten toes and doctor said everything looks good. We even saw all the chambers of her little heart...amazing what technology can do these days!

Baby Kimbop is a...

Just found out yesterday we are having a baby girl! The ultrasound tech said she has long legs :) The ultrasound pics I got were pretty crumby but I intend on going to the korean clinic in the next couple weeks and getting some better baby photos. So now begins the real shopping!

Texas Baby Shower

Coty threw baby Kimbop a baby shower on our last weekend in the States. We still didn't know the sex then, but had a great time decorating onesies with puff paint and fabric markers. They turned out really cute! Thanks so much ladies!

Back in the USA

I am visiting family and friends back in the U.S. and making the most of an unexpected trip. Sadly, my Grandmother Reba passed away and I am staying for a month long visit. I am still feeling good and am now growing a very visible baby belly. Still don't know the sex yet, but will have another ultrasound back in S. Korea on Aug. 13. Scott and I had Trinity for a couple of days and squeezed in as much fun in two days as we possibly could. Trinity wants a little sister, but I have a feeling it's a boy.

Baby Kimbop

Got our first baby picture this past week! Everything is going great with my pregnancy and I'm still feeling good. Baby Kimbop (the new nickname) is healthy and looking good. I couldn't believe how active he/she was during the ultrasound, but I still can't feel any movement from him/her. By the way, kimbop is a korean vegetable sushi and we just thought it was a cute name and much better than "it". :)

Dr. Apt.- June 1, 2009

The doctor appointment went well and Scott and I heard our baby's heartbeat. His/her little heart was beating at 150 beats per minute. Some say this indicates that we are having a boy because the lower heartrate. We shall see :) I will post a profile picture of me sometime this week, but haven't really seen alot of change (i.e. no baby bump yet). Hope everybody is doing well! Love to all.

Nursery ideas

Since we are in Korea and will be moving shortly after the baby is born I'm not planning on wallpapering or painting, so unfortunately the baby is stuck with the yellow walls already there. I'm trying to be as practical as possible, but at the same time want to spoil this baby rotten already! It's really hard to find that balance huh? :) So I'm looking at possibly painting one of our dressers and purchasing a rocker and a 4-in-1 convertable crib for the nursery.
I learned in a child development class I took in college that an infant's eye sight is not fully developed until several months after birth. I recently learned that red, black, and white are actually the first colors they can see. Therefore, I'm going to stick with those colors (red, black, and white) for the nursery. It will be a lady bug theme for a girl and sports theme for a boy.

If anybody has any input or ideas I am all ears!

11 weeks

My next Dr. apt is Monday, June 1st and we can't wait to hear the heartbeat! I am still feeling great and just have to remember to eat little snacks throughout the day. Long car/bus rides are almost unbearable because I have to potty ALL THE TIME, but other than that all is well. I've been stocking up on maternity clothes and looking forward to receiving some more from my sister-in-laws soon. Will let you know how the Dr. apt goes!

First Dr. Appointment

Well I didn't actually see a doctor yet. My "orientation" and initial appointment was with an OB/GYN nurse at the 18th MEDCOM hospital (USAG Yongsan, S. Korea). As expected, there was alot of paperwork to fill out, many questions to be asked/answered, and more bloodwork. The due date is officially Dec. 18th, but I read last week that 1 in 20 babies arrives on their due date!
From now on my appointments and care will be handled here at USAG Humphreys, where we currently live. This will be more convenient and require less traveling. I expect my next appointment to be the first week of June and Scott and I will get to hear Baby Proffitt's heartbeat!
Everybody has been inquiring as to how I feel and to be quite honest there are many days when I don't "feel" pregnant. Other than fatigue I haven't experienced any extreme or nagging symptoms (knocking on wood). Thank goodness!
Thanks to everybody for your love and prayers! Bye for now. Kristen
