Nursery ideas

Since we are in Korea and will be moving shortly after the baby is born I'm not planning on wallpapering or painting, so unfortunately the baby is stuck with the yellow walls already there. I'm trying to be as practical as possible, but at the same time want to spoil this baby rotten already! It's really hard to find that balance huh? :) So I'm looking at possibly painting one of our dressers and purchasing a rocker and a 4-in-1 convertable crib for the nursery.
I learned in a child development class I took in college that an infant's eye sight is not fully developed until several months after birth. I recently learned that red, black, and white are actually the first colors they can see. Therefore, I'm going to stick with those colors (red, black, and white) for the nursery. It will be a lady bug theme for a girl and sports theme for a boy.

If anybody has any input or ideas I am all ears!

11 weeks

My next Dr. apt is Monday, June 1st and we can't wait to hear the heartbeat! I am still feeling great and just have to remember to eat little snacks throughout the day. Long car/bus rides are almost unbearable because I have to potty ALL THE TIME, but other than that all is well. I've been stocking up on maternity clothes and looking forward to receiving some more from my sister-in-laws soon. Will let you know how the Dr. apt goes!

First Dr. Appointment

Well I didn't actually see a doctor yet. My "orientation" and initial appointment was with an OB/GYN nurse at the 18th MEDCOM hospital (USAG Yongsan, S. Korea). As expected, there was alot of paperwork to fill out, many questions to be asked/answered, and more bloodwork. The due date is officially Dec. 18th, but I read last week that 1 in 20 babies arrives on their due date!
From now on my appointments and care will be handled here at USAG Humphreys, where we currently live. This will be more convenient and require less traveling. I expect my next appointment to be the first week of June and Scott and I will get to hear Baby Proffitt's heartbeat!
Everybody has been inquiring as to how I feel and to be quite honest there are many days when I don't "feel" pregnant. Other than fatigue I haven't experienced any extreme or nagging symptoms (knocking on wood). Thank goodness!
Thanks to everybody for your love and prayers! Bye for now. Kristen
